Facility Attendant (Part-Time)

JOB DESCRIPTION

The City of Orillia has an opening for the part-time position of Facility Attendant in the Environment and Infrastructure Services Department.

 

DUTIES

  • Responsible for the cleanliness of all City owned facilities by ensuring the interior of building and main entrances, including the immediate exterior are clean at all times.
  • Keep floors clean in a good state of preservation (floor finish); dust and vacuum when necessary.
  • Scrub, mop and disinfect washrooms, clean all sanitary fixtures, and replenish washroom supplies daily.
  • Wash interior of windows, glass partitions and all surfaces (walls, doors, shelves, fire equipment) as required.
  • Empty and clean wastepaper receptacles and garbage pails daily.
  • Maintain storage areas and cleaning equipment, materials and supplies in a safe and orderly manner to ensure the safety of staff and the public.
  • Snow removal and salting of sidewalks as required.
  • Assist with minor repairs as required

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Completion of a Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System course with the ability to read and understand labels and instructions on the use of cleaning chemicals and products as well as familiarization with the Health and Safety Act.
  • Ability to work with little to no supervision.
  • Previous experience with stripping and waxing floors is an asset.
  • Knowledge of standard cleaning procedures, chemicals, products and equipment.
  • Possess a valid class ‘G’ Ontario driver’s licence with access to a reliable vehicle.
  • An acceptable Criminal Record Check is required for this position at the incumbent’s expense prior to the employment commencement date.

 

Compensation for this position is $21.59 to $22.90 per hour for a maximum of 24 hours per week.
