Customer Service Representative (Part-Time)

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Corporation of the City of Orillia has an opening for the part-time position of Customer Service Representative in the Recreation, Youth and Culture Division of the Corporate Services Department.

 

DUTIES

  • Provide a high-level of front-line customer service including greeting and engaging customers, providing program information and program availability with a strong focus on customers’ needs.
  • Answer telephone calls and respond to customer concerns/ inquiries in a professional manner.
  • Process and accept payments for program registrations, facility bookings, memberships and point of sale transactions.
  • Process and collect payments for drop-in programming at City of Orillia recreational facilities.
  • Handle feedback in a professional manner while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Balance and verify daily revenue and complete administrative paperwork and reports.
  • Complete administrative duties in a timely manner (e.g. opening and closing procedures, count sheets, etc.).
  • Maintain up-to-date information regarding department programs and services.
  • Assist with concessions operations when required.
  • Understand, adhere to, and enforce Corporate Policies & Procedures, Confidentiality Guidelines, Emergency Procedures and Health and Safety Standards for all participants and staff.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong organizational skills, judgement and oral and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills using MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Experience with ActiveNet software is considered an asset.
  • Exceptional customer service skills. Previous customer service experience is an asset.
  • Ability to work well independently or as part of a team.
  • Current Standard First Aid / CPR / AED from an accredited organization.
  • An acceptable Criminal Record Check is required at the incumbent's expense prior to employment commencement date. 

Compensation for this position is $21.06 to $21.70 per hour. Hours of work will vary and will include early mornings, weekends and holiday dates. Interested applicants are invited to apply by November 4th, 2024, at noon.
