Park Maintenance (Contract)

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Corporation of the City of Orillia has various openings of contract positions for Park Maintenance in the Facilities, Climate Change and Operations division of the Environment and Infrastructure Services Department for the 2025 summer season. Contract duration will be from spring to fall.  

 

DUTIES

  • Building/apparatus/ground/horticulture maintenance and litter control.
  • Flower bed preparation, installation and care of horticultural areas and hanging baskets (includes weekend watering).
  • Greenhouse operational practices (including transplanting and watering).
  • Mowing all turf area, ground maintenance, equipment, and apparatus maintenance.
  • Assist with turf management, athletic field maintenance and general parks maintenance operations throughout the parks system.
  • Collection of garbage and recycling throughout the parks system.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must possess a valid Class ‘G’ Ontario Driver’s licence with an acceptable Driver Abstract.
  • A current and acceptable Criminal Record Check at the incumbent’s expense is required for this position. 
  • Compensation for this position is $18.40 to $18.96 per hour. The contract duration will be flexible based on the availability of the successful candidate.
  • Shifts and hours will vary weekly, up to a maximum of 40 hours per week. This position will include day, evening and weekend shifts.
