JOB DESCRIPTION
The Corporation of the City of Orillia is seeking an Application Specialist Corporate Systems and Microsoft for a one-year contract in the Business Development, Tourism and Modernization Division of the Corporate Services Department. The successful applicant will be the subject matter expert bridging the gap between business operation and enterprise technology by supporting and leading innovation initiatives that extend the use of Corporate Systems, including ERP and Microsoft technology.

DUTIES
- Platform Administration: Managing Microsoft environments (Exchange, SharePoint Online OneDrive, and Teams) to ensure seamless, secure corporate collaboration.
- System Configuration and ERP Module Management: Translating business policies into ERP system rules, approval workflows, and user role based (RBAC) permissions. Overseeing specific functional areas to ensure operational continuity.
- Workflow Automation: Building no-code/low-code tools using Microsoft Power Automate, Power Apps, Power Bi, SharePoint lists or internal ERP workflow tools to streamline business processes.
- System Integration: Connecting various enterprise applications (ERP/CRM systems like Dynamics 365, PSD Citywide) and Corporate Applications via APIs and ensuring smooth data flow.
- Business Intelligence and Data Analysis: Designing custom reports, SQL queries, Group Policies, PowerShell scripts and dashboards (e.g., Power BI) for business decision-making and data cleansing/migration.
- Lead Technology Initiatives through all phases of the Systems Life Cycle: Gather business requirements, prepare RFPs/RFQs, evaluate options, and make recommendations. Develop and monitor detailed project schedules and budgets. Act as the technical liaison with external project managers /vendors. Manage escalations and provide application support. Work with external project managers to implement new systems and manage escalations/supports.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
- Three to five years in IT, with experience supporting, maintaining and implementation of enterprise-level systems in a production environment or a combination of related education and experience. At least 1 year in a modern administration role is preferred.
- IT service management methodologies (ITIL) and system life cycle management training.
- Demonstrated commitment (through continuing certification) of successful completion of Microsoft Certifications. Microsoft Power Platform (PL) certifications are preferred. Microsoft PL300 Certification is an asset.
- Experience in workflow automation and development, application integration and data management with demonstrated experience in SQL, scripting tools, PowerShell, GPOs, SharePoint Lists, Microsoft forms, Power platform automation and API integration.
- Excellent interpersonal, report writing, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to work effectively in a team setting with minimal supervision.
- Experience leading business or technology initiatives in a corporate setting would be an asset.
- Must possess a valid class ‘G’ Ontario’s driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
- An acceptable Criminal Record Check is required for this position prior to the employment commencement date at the incumbent’s expense.
Compensation for this position is $85,795 to $92,797, based on a 35-hour work week, and registration with the OMERS pension plan.
